Kid’s nutrition can be tricky, mainly because so many children are picky eaters. As a momma of two picky eaters, I know firsthand the struggle of wanting to feed your children all the healthy nutrients they need each day, but constantly feeling like you’re falling short because they’d rather pass on the veggies, opting for a bag of chips instead.
It’s frustrating, to say the least, especially since health is front of mind right now as we all navigate COVID-19 and sending/not sending our children back to school and back to the “new normal.” We have a lot on our plates as parents and making sure our kids are fortified with the vitamins and supplements they need to be as healthy as possible, is most definitely one of them.
That’s where First Day Vitamins, or hifirstday vitamins, come into play. Whether you’re currently giving your child(ren) vitamins or you’re looking to start them on a regime, First Day may be a great option for your family.
In this article, I’m reviewing First Day Vitamins, giving you all the information you need to decide if this kid’s vitamin subscription is right for your family.
What is First Day?
First Day Vitamins offers a natural, scientifically formulated daily multivitamin subscription service for children between the ages of 3-13. They also have a women's multivitamin gummy that's gaining massive popularity (jump to that section now if that's what you're here for).
First Day Vitamins were created by two friends, Alice and Andy, in 2017 when they started to ask questions about how vitamins were made and what benefits they were actually providing. According to studies, many kids multivitamins on the market have way over the daily recommended dosage of most ingredients, 1000% in some cases!
They came up with the concept of making a children’s vitamin that was better. A vitamin that’s rooted in science and nature and free of all the junk found in traditional kid’s vitamins. In fact, if you were to analyze the ingredients of some of the most popular drug store vitamins for kids, you would likely be appalled by the ingredients list, particularly the amount of sugar.
First Day Kids Vitamins Review
Now that you have a good idea of the brand and what they offer, let's start off this review by going over everything about their kids multivitamin gummy.
The Science Behind Their Vitamins
First Day founders started the company by asking some questions that really weren’t being asked in the vitamin industry like what are supplements really doing for us? Why are they made the way they are? What they discovered was that the average multivitamin was using outdating science for 50+ years ago. A lot has changed in the world, and so have our nutritional needs, so it was high time that someone steps up to the plate and makes those changes.
Alice and Andy, along with their team of medical advisors and scientists, investigated thousands of clinical studies. From there, they determined what the latest science was and found the most absorbable ingredients from around the world so that the vitamins they supply for are giving you the most bang for your buck, or health.
Benefits You Can Expect
Here are some of the benefits of First Day’s approach to nutrition that they pass on to you and your family:
Science-Driven Approach
When it comes to our health, there is no magic pill or quick fix. We do our best to consume a healthy balanced diet and to provide for our children the same, but we’re not perfect and kids only care about what tastes good. By using the latest scientific breakthroughs, their experts were able to design products that compliment your family’s daily habits. They did all the research to find out what we’re lacking in our modern diets and put them into their products.
Superior Absorption
First Day uses the most absorbable forms of vitamins from around the world. Absorption level, or bioavailability, varies based on how the chemical form interacts with your genes, health, and environment. The greater the bioavailability, the easier it is for our bodies to process the nutrients.
Wholesome, Whole Ingredients
Every ingredient in First Day Vitamins serves a specific purpose. Each nutrient found within them is designed to fill a nutritional gap in our children’s everyday needs. With a blend of 27 organic fruits and vegetables, they’ll get all the antioxidants and phytonutrients they need to promote overall health and wellness. They use organic produce that’s sourced straight from local farms to be blended into their gummies.
50-80% Less Sugar
Did you know that most of the children’s vitamins you see on the store shelves are nothing more than glorified pieces of candy? It’s true, the sugar content is outrageous and not fitting for a healthy, sustainable diet. First Day, on the other hand, has 50-80% less sugar, giving you peace of mind that you’re protecting your child’s teeth and health while giving them the nutrients they really need. Don’t worry, they are still delicious!
First Day Kids Vitamins Ingredients
First Day has one of the simplest ingredients lists I’ve seen for a kid’s multivitamin. Here’s what’s inside their gummies:
- Vitamin A
- Vitamin B1
- Vitamin B2
- Vitamin B6
- Vitamin B9 (Folate)
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin D3
- Vitamin K2
These have everything your child needs and nothing they don’t. They use real fruits and veggies to make their gummies colorful and delicious to enjoy. Their gummies are infused with papaya, citrus, berries, and kiwi, ensuring your kids will love the taste and always be eager to take their vitamins.
How Does a First Day Subscription Work?
First Day allows you to choose between a one-time purchase of their kid’s vitamins or to subscribe and save. Subscribing is the preferred method because not only do you save money, the more kids you have, the more you save each month! But you’ll get your vitamins on auto-pilot, never having to worry about running out again. We have enough to worry about, let’s let First Day take care of our kid’s multivitamins!
Here’s how the process works:
Step 2
Place your order for your vitamin subscription through hifirstday.com.
Step 2
Receive your bottle in the mail with a 30 day supply (60 gummies). Encourage your kids to decorate and personalize their bottles, you’ll be hanging onto them!
Step 3
Each subsequent month, you’ll receive a refill pouch with another 30-day supply of vitamins. No new bottles mean less waste and a great opportunity to teach your kids about protecting the environment.

The original bottle you receive is BPA-free and designed to last and the refill pouches are fully recyclable! Together, we can all work to reduce the amount of plastic waste going into our local landfills.
The Verdict: Should You Try First Day Vitamins?
While researching vitamins for kids for my own children and to share with my blog readers, I looked at a lot of kid’s vitamin brands. There were only a few that really stuck out to me as being the best, and hifirstday was one of them. This is clearly a company that put much time, thought, and scientific energy into creating a vitamin that’s simply superior to others on the market.
I am impressed with their dedication to keeping the nutrients in their multivitamin simple, yet making sure everything your child needs is in there. My one reservation with this brand is the fact that it comes in gummy form (great for kids, not so great for their teeth). Hiya is another very similar D2C nutrition brand for kids that produces vitamins, but theirs come in a chewable form and have ZERO sugar. You can read my full comparison on first day and Hiya here to see the differences and similarities between the two brands.
I think First Day is a wonderful brand and a great product. If your kids will only consume their vitamins in gummy-form, by all means, give them the gummy! If that’s the case, First Day is the best gummy vitamin for kids on the market right now, in my opinion. Whatever you choose, know that you’re doing an amazing job and that the simple fact that you’re looking at a First Day review says that you’re a parent who cares, and the world needs a whole lot more people like you and me, that’s for sure!
Hi Cheryl! Thanks for the comment. I think both First Day and Hiya are wonderful products for families. You really can’t go wrong with either!
