Tami, from Fit Healthy Momma, rates the Skill Yoga App after trying it for 30 days.

Fit Healthy Momma Rating: 9.9/10 ⭐

Skill Yoga is offering personalized yoga for athletes and everyday people who want to improve their mobility, flexibility, and strength on their schedule and in as little as a few minutes per day. Skill’s intuitive app and Skill Coach allows you to be placed in a program that meets your unique needs. Skill is easy to use, effective, and incredibly affordable.

Yoga is undoubtedly one of the best forms of exercise you can do for strength, balance, mobility, and flexibility. Additionally, yoga adds tons of mental benefits to your life as well.

Despite there being innumerable benefits to practicing yoga, there’s a huge population of people who could benefit from it but aren’t due to various obstacles from not having enough time to being unwilling or unable to attend a yoga class. One population that can seriously benefit from yoga is athletes and those looking to improve their performance.

Skill Yoga is a new, personalized yoga app that’s helping athletes and everyday people to improve performance, hone their skills, and overall get more out of their everyday lives. The best part is that you can use the Skill Yoga app to work on your practice anytime, anywhere, and on your own schedule. Most of the workouts take just a few minutes!

I've reviewed a handful of fitness apps that have yoga in their arsenal of online training, including the likes of obe fitness (learn more here) and Alo Moves, but Skill Yoga is unique.

I recently explored the Skill Yoga app for myself as I am someone who has always considered yoga to be too “light weight” for me. I can’t wait to share with you what I discovered when I dug into the app! Let’s explore Skill Yoga and let you decide if it’s worth giving a try.

Skill Yoga is available on both the Apple App Store and on Google Play and it has a 4.8/5 star rating, which is evidence that this yoga application is legit and worth giving a try. Especially because they offer the first workout of every workout plan completely free, so you can give it a shot and then decide for yourself.

Skill Yoga is for everyone at every stage and ability, however, the company focuses mainly on men’s fitness, creating a convenient, lucrative way to get more men doing yoga. Skill is aiming to help athletes of all levels develop their yoga skills despite feeling excluded from the traditional yoga culture. Their down to earth approach is like a breath of fresh air for those looking to improve their performance and their life.

Overall, you should try Skill Yoga if you want to:

  • Increase mobility

How Does Skill Yoga Work? A Look at The Personalized Training Plan

Today, apps are smart, which means that they can deliver customized fitness solutions instead of giving everyone a blanket program. When it comes to Skill Yoga, they understand that there’s no ones-size-fits-all solution when it comes to fitness. Especially when we’re talking about athletes and the various sport-specific needs.

What Are Skill Yoga Classes Like?

mobility yoga class on skill yoga app

Personally, I’m committed to improving my overall mobility and flexibility, so I knew that yoga would provide me with that. After taking a few Skill Yoga classes, I can tell you that I am already feeling stronger, leaner, and more mobile.

Every Skill Yoga class features real time videos that guide you through the entire workout. There’s a voiceover that’s instructing and cueing you through each and every movement. Overall, the video and sound quality are incredible. It’s a very clean, simple interface that allows you to focus on what’s most important: your workout.

When compared to other yoga apps and classes I’ve taken, I would definitely say that Skill focuses more on strength and fitness than mindfulness and stillness. It’s definitely a challenge no matter how experienced you are!

One of my favorite classes is their hip mobility for athletes. I injured my hip a year and a half ago and performing these movements has really helped me to loosen it up, strengthen it, and feel more confident in move movements. Overall, the classes are designed to help you get stronger, and trust me, you will!

During any class, you have the option to pause, rewind, or fast forward the class, which is great because I am often interrupted and I hate missing a segment or movement.

How Much Does Skill Yoga Cost?

Skill Yoga’s premium subscription plan starts at just $3.99 per month for a 12 month membership ($41.99 per year). They also have the option to pay $12.99 per month for three months or $9.99 per month for six months, depending on your needs. Regardless of which membership option you choose, you can cancel at any time. With the premium membership, you’ll have access to hundreds of on-demand yoga classes on your schedule.
