rastelli's meat delivery service rating

Fit Healthy Momma Rating: 9/10 ⭐

Rastelli’s offers premium meats sourced from local farms that are free of any additives and hormones. When compared to using your local grocery store to purchase meat, Rastelli’s offers a much higher quality product, plus they offer an added convenience by delivering it right to your door.

I was just telling my husband the other night that I have become such a fan of protein, particularly, a good cut of meat cooked just right. I know that eating meat isn’t for everyone, however, the more I have learned about counting macros and fueling my body, the more I understand the importance of getting adequate protein. And it just so happens that I really enjoy eating high-quality meat!

So when I was introduced to Rastelli’s recently, I didn’t hesitate to say yes to trying their meat delivery service which promised sustainably sourced meats. After all, I recently tried and reviewed Good Chop, and was over-the-top impressed with the service and the quality of the meats we got, so trying another similar service was a no-brainer.

In this review of Rastelli’s meat delivery service, I’m going to tell you all about the brand, what they offer, how it works, and of course, my personal experience and opinions of the meat my family received. Let’s peel back the layers and see if this is one of the meat delivery services that should be at the top of your list!

What’s With All The Meat Delivery Services?

Before we dive in, let’s first take a second to consider why we’re seeing so many meat delivery services right now; doesn’t it feel like this type of thing kinda snuck up overnight?

Here’s the deal, there have been so many eye-opening discoveries over the last decade that have exposed what the meat industry looks like. We’ve seen enough in Netflix documentaries to want to swear off meat forever. However, not every company and not every farm uses the same practices to produce the meat that you consume.

So while we might be turned off of grocery store meats, that doesn’t mean that there’s no such thing as quality meat, you might just have to take an alternate route to get it.

When I was growing up, I was lucky enough to live close to family-run farms and my parents always purchased local meat that was raised, cut, and packaged right down the road from us. We knew where the meat came from and it was good stuff. Today, I live thousands of miles from my hometown and have no idea where to get farm-fresh meat, which is why brands like Rastelli’s who can deliver meats right to my door are helping me feed my family the kind of proteins that I feel good about. And my guess is that you’re in a similar boat, so let’s take a look at Rastelli’s to see if it matches the quality standards that you hold for your family.

Meat Delivery vs Local Grocery Store

Unfortunately, meat that comes from the grocery store has a story that you will likely never know. You can’t be sure where it came from or what kind of practices were used to get it there. Heck, you can’t even be sure what’s in there. That’s a little scary!

A good meat delivery service is transparent with their sourcing, the farms they associate with, and the integrity of their selections. Rastelli’s meats are the real deal when it comes to open, honest, safe, and antibiotic free proteins that don’t include the fat, grizzle, and junk left behind by grocery store meats.

rastellis meat delivery review summary

High quality packaging and high quality meat. Overall, one of the best meat delivery experiences I've tried.

Introducing Rastelli’s

Rastelli’s started as a family-run butcher shop that took pride in offering premium, hand-selected meats. Ray Rastelli Jr. and his brother, Tony, the two founding owners of Rastelli’s, expanded their business to include eight shops, setting meticulous standards for superior butchery and perfect cuts at each location. The family butcher business quickly became their bread and butter.

Rastelli’s seeks out farm and fishing families that have generations of history and deep-rooted passion for what they do and what they provide. As a family-owned company themselves, Rastelli’s loves to support other family-run operations.

They seek farmers who have a proven track record of caring for their animals and the environment. Every cut of meat they sell is certified antibiotic, steroid, and hormone-free. All seafood is wild-caught or sustainably raised, they do not take any shortcuts or make any exceptions. Whether you’re looking for grass-fed beef from a local US farm or sustainably caught Faroe Island salmon filets, you’ll find just that from the meat selection offered by Rastelli’s.

My Personal Experience and Review

For the purpose of this review, Rastelli’s very kindly sent my family and me a box of their antibiotic-free meat to try. My first impression was: this is exactly what I was looking for!

The box was delivered packed with dry ice and enveloped in a lovely, reusable cooler bag with a zippered top which is perfect for stashing in your car for those trips to the store when you need to get your cold foods home and actually keep them cold!

rastelli's meat delivery - my personal review

You can check out my YT channel to see me unbox everything, but I also cooked and ate Rastelli's meat. Two words - mouth watering.

Everything was perfectly packaged and flash frozen so it was all fresh. Plus, I was confident that I could put the meats that I wouldn’t eat right away in the freezer and they would be just fine for months, no freezer burn here!

burgers by Rastelli's

Individually packed burgers is the best idea ever.

After geeking out over the packaging and the easy buying experience, we needed to put this responsibly raised meat and seafood to the test. We thawed out a couple of steaks and burgers to try first. You can thaw them by either placing them in the fridge for a couple of days or by placing the vacuum-sealed package into a bowl of cold water for 30-45 minutes (this actually works wonders!).

We grilled the steak, and a few burgers from the burger box we received, and were nothing but delighted with the taste and quality. It’s almost as if the meats from Rastelli’s taste more like meat than the ones you get at the store. Even the pre-seasoned options had a stronger, more natural flavor than anything you can get in the meat section of the grocery, in my opinion.

Thus far, we have tried the salmon, pork tenderloin, sirloin, and wagyu burgers and everything was a 10/10 for taste and each meat was perfectly juicy every single time. I love that they have a large selection of meats and seafood to choose from, including pre-cooked options for the weeks when cooking feels like an impossible task.

I can absolutely see our family continuing to use Rastelli’s subscription plans for our future meat needs, including for holidays and special occasions as they have a ton of quality holiday meat to choose from when it’s in season.

Other Real Customer Reviews, Ratings and Feedback

Of course, you don’t want to just hear about my experience with Rastelli’s before deciding if this is a good meat delivery option for you, so I took a look around the internet to get a feel for what others are saying about Rastelli’s.

According to Facebook, Rastelli’s has a rating of 4.3 out of 5, which says a lot because we all know that Facebook is usually where people come to complain! All in all, the folks who have tried Rastelli’s are very happy with their expansive selection of meats and their dedication to providing only the most quality cuts out there. It’s obvious that people who try Rastelli’s are looking for the good stuff and are very happy with what they get from this brand.

I did see a couple of negative comments on their Facebook page, but each one was immediately responded to by the Rastelli’s team, and I have no doubt that they took care of the issue and made things right. It’s always a great sign to see the brand actually interacting with and responding to comments and reviews, it shows that they care about their customers and their online reputation.

Wrapping Up: Is Rastelli’s Meat Delivery Worth Trying?

100% yes, Rastelli’s is an awesome option for meat delivery for those who are looking for clean, safe, antibiotic-free meats and seafood that they can feel good about consuming. It’s unlikely to say that you won’t ever eat meat from a grocery store again because we all have those times that we need something in a pinch. However, I think that ordering from Rastelli’s and keeping your subscription going will not only keep your freezer stocked, but it will also add a ton of flavor and value to your life.

If you have never tried meat that comes directly from a farm and that has not been messed with, then you’re in for a real treat, because there is absolutely a big difference between that and the products you can find in the meat section at your local grocer.
