I used to hate coffee for years. Whenever I’d be with someone who wanted a coffee, I’d always opt for a hot chocolate. It wasn’t until I was in my mid-20’s that I started to discover it’s magic.
And I don’t just mean the caffeine side effects, I mean the taste, the smell, and its ability to make my whole morning. Today, I look forward to that first cup of hot coffee like nothing else. It’s in those quiet moments, sitting by my computer while my family sleeps that I find so much peace and joy.
About 6 months ago, I finally forced myself to take a long, hard look at the creamer I was putting into my coffee. I’m definitely not a black coffee kind of gal, I love my creamer, so this was not easy. I was pouring into my coffee that sweet, sticky goodness that comes in those giant containers and a variety of decadent flavors. But I knew it wasn’t good for me.
I had sworn off artificial sweeteners and additives a while back. I knew it was time to switch up my creamer, too. So, I went on a quest to find a healthier alternative that matched my lifestyle and goals. This is when I found Prymal coffee creamer.
Here’s my full review of this all-natural, sugar-free, keto-friendly coffee creamer.
What is Prymal?
Prymal is a powder coffee creamer that’s made from all-natural ingredients and contains no extra sugar or junk. They have a ton of different flavors to choose from, rivaling the variety of big-name creamer brands.
Their products are non-GMO, gluten-free, sugar-free, and contain 1G of net carbs per serving.
Who’s The Company Behind The Creamer?
Prymal was created by a woman named Courtney who was on a mission to find a sugar-free creamer option for her coffee-loving dad and grandfather who had type II diabetes. Previously, they were pouring that same sugary junk and even additional scoops of sugar into their coffee because it tasted so good, and there just weren’t any other options.
Courtney knew there had to be a way to create a tasty coffee additive without all the extra sugar and junk. There had to be a way to achieve that smooth, creamy taste and indulgent flavorings that gave the big brand creamers a run for the their money. And she figured it out.
Here’s their mission statement from their website:
“My team and I are devoted to making better creamers that bring people together and make the life-long journey to health an enjoyable process. It’s what keeps us up late at night and gets us jumping out of bed in the morning--literally! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to create experiences that make every morning something you look forward to.
How Do You Prepare It?
The first thing I understood about this product is that it’s not like your typical coffee creamer - which is a good thing! This product comes in a powder form and works best mixed or frothed with your favorite milk. Be sure to read the preparation instructions or watch the video below to make sure you prepare it correctly. Don’t worry, it’s simple once you see how it works!
Here’s how I prepare it:
- Step 1: Pour ¼ cup unsweetened almond milk into mug and warm it in the microwave for a few seconds
- Step 2: Add 2 scoops of powdered creamer to the warm milk
- Step 3: Use this milk frother to mix the two ingredients together
- Step 4: Pour hot coffee directly on top and enjoy!
Yes, it does require a couple of small extra steps, but trust me, it’s worth it! Both for your health and for the delicious taste experience you’ll get when you drink your coffee.
You can also use it in iced coffee!
What Flavors Are Available?
Flavors are always changing with the seasons and new ones are frequently introduced. Here’s a current flavor list from their website:
- Original flavor
- Birthday cake
- Butter pecan
- Cocoa Mocha
- Italian sweet cream
- Salted caramel
- Red velvet cake
- Pumpkin spice
- Vanilla bean
Prymal also sells accessories to help make the process as simple and efficient as possible. I highly recommend getting their sustainable wooden measure spoon to scoop your powder (it’s only $2.99!) and an Aerolatte Milk Frother. They sell them right on their website or you can grab one on Amazon. I have this one. If you’ve never tried one before, you’re in for a treat! You can make frothy, cafe-style drinks right from home. I also swear by this coffee mug, once you use an insulated mug, you'll never go back!
How Much Does it Cost?
There are two different sizes you can choose from, a large bag or a small bag. Large bags make between 25-30 cups of coffee and the cost is $22 and the small bag makes 5-8 cups and costs $6.
I would recommend buying a couple of small bags in the flavors that you think you’ll enjoy first before committing to a large bag. That said, I’ve tried several flavors and have not been disappointed by any of them.
How About Shipping?
Shipping is FREE for orders over $55! For orders less than $55, you can expect to pay about $5 for standard shipping. For reference, I usually receive my package about 5 days after ordering.
Real Prymal Coffee Creamer Reviews
Check out what some other Prymal customers are saying:
“I’m on weight watchers and have been desperately trying to find a way to enjoy my coffee while keeping it low points. I just tried the Prymal flavor in birthday cake and it is absolutely delicious!!! Please keep making this flavor. I’m excited to try others! Thanks so much! :)”
“This is perfect for what I was looking for! Flavorful but not overly sweet and easy to mix. No grainy textures! Can't wait to try it in iced coffee next! Will definitely be buying again!!!”
“When I started keto, I didn't think I would ever drink coffee again because I am a creamer junkie. After 6 months without my morning coffee I was so happy to find Prymal. This stuff is amazing and the pumpkin spice flavors spot on! You won't be disappointed!”
Final Thoughts And My Verdict
After trying Prymal coffee creamer for myself and digging into the company, their mission, and the ingredients they use, I can tell you that I am a big fan. Not only do their creamers taste good, but I feel good using them. Anyone who is watching their sugar, whether for medical or lifestyle reasons, will rejoice that there’s finally an alternative to those super-sweet, not-so-good-for-you creamer choices that you see in your local grocery store.
So far, I have tried the red velvet cake flavor, pumpkin spice, and cocoa mocha. I loved them all, but am very partial to the pumpkin spice flavor (I’ll drink that year-round!). I’m about to order the birthday cake flavor next, I’ll be sure to report back!
