We all know by now that taking a daily probiotic can be extremely beneficial for our health. But what about probiotics during pregnancy? Do you need them? Should you buy a specialized formula?
In this post, I am so excited to share with all my pregnant mommas and those who are trying to conceive a powerful pregnancy probiotic from one of my favorite brands, Pink Stork.
This is my complete Pink Stork Probiotic review as well as a breakdown of probiotics for pregnancy and how they can benefit your body during this important time of change.
What Are Probiotics?
Are probiotics for pregnancy necessary? Before we dig in and answer that question, let’s first tackle what exactly they are.
Probiotics are microorganisms, most of which are bacteria and yeast. These are similar to the naturally occurring microorganisms found in your intestines and gut. These have been nicknamed the “friendly bacteria” because they are good for us and have proven to be very beneficial for our digestive health.
How Do Probiotics Work During Pregnancy?
According to the American Pregnancy Association, the exact way that probiotics work is up for debate. Researchers are still working to understand the exact mechanism that makes them effective.
That said, the main consensus is that good bacteria works in the same way that bad bacteria workds in that it attacks -bad bacteria attack our bodies and make us sick, but good bacteria attack the foreign invaders in our bodies, destroying them before they can cause us harm.
Benefits of Probiotics During Pregnancy
Probiotics can come from foods or supplements, and they help your digestive system work more effectively. If you’re a pregnant momma or you’ve been pregnant before, you may have experienced the very common pregnancy side effect of constipation or a myriad of other not-so-pleasant gut isssues.
These microorganisms help to balance out the good and bad bacteria in your gut so that your digestive tract is able to move more efficiently (aka you should be more regular - can I get an AMEN!). Additionally, with less bad bacteria in your body, you’ll have less of a chance of experiencing health complications during your pregnancy.

What I Love About This Product
I found Pink Story during my infertility journey and fell in love with their brightly colored branding, pretty packaging, and positive vibes. This brand brightened my day back when I was spiraling down the infertility rabbit hole.
In my opinion, one of the biggest benefits of this probiotic is that it helps treat nausea and morning sickness, which we all know is more like all-day sickness. So many users have reported significant morning sickness relief by using this product.
And there are so many Pink Stork Probiotic reviews from pregnant women who report that they no longer have to take medication to help relieve their pregnancy constipation.
I’m not sure about you, but when I was pregnant I most certainly suffered with some nausea and constipation at various times during my pregnancy. There’s nothing worse than being uncomfortably pregnant and constipated. So for me, an all-natural supplement that helps promote a healthy body and healthy digestion is a godsend.
I only wanted to fuel my body with healthy, natural products during pregnancy, or none at all. Pink Stork’s products fit the bill. The capsules are so much smaller than other probiotics I have taken which made them easy to swallow.
First, I just want to say this product works. In both my pregnancies I have had terrible constipation. With my first, I just kinda suffered through, but this time I had to do something different after spending an hour on the toilet one night and crying. I had an unmedicated home birth with my first child, and I honestly thought that experience was equal to if not worse than labor. So I ordered this out of desperation and holy crap - literally - they work. I’ve been relived from the terrible, painful constipation and my BMs are much more frequent and pleasant
I have had terrible morning sickness for weeks (currently 15 weeks pregnant) event after being put on medication to help with the nausea. I felt some additional relief once I started taking Pink Stork Prenatal Probiotics in the mornings. Definitely recommend it for anyone suffering through never-ending, all day morning sickness
Best thing ever! I usually suffer from horrible first trimester “morning” sickness. I lost ten pounds with each of my first three pregnancies from not being able to eat/keep anything down. These things are magic! I was actually able to eat while taking these for my fourth pregnancy and now recommend to all my mom friends suffering first trimester nausea
