First, for anyone who’s struggled with PCOS and/or infertility, I feel for you. I’ve been there. I’ve felt the lowest of lows, the highest of highs, and the countless days spent stressing, obsessing, and researching.

In today’s post, I’m sharing my Ovasitol review as well as my personal journey with PCOS and infertility in hopes that it helps you on your journey to wherever you’re headed and to know that you’re not alone.

If you’re looking for help managing your PCOS symptoms or trying to conceive, you may have heard of Ovasitol. But does it really help, even cure, PCOS? I dug into the research deep and pulled from my personal experience to bring you my full, honest review of this product that may be able to help women with PCOS.

What is Ovasitol? Reviewed for Infertility

Let’s start at the beginning, Ovasitol is a supplement that was designed for women who suffer from PCOS. The specific formula is a 40:1 ratio of D-Chiro and Myo-inositol.

If you have PCOS, then you’ve likely at least heard of Myo-inositol and know that it has been proven to help those who suffer to lose weight, reduce cravings, increase chances of conception, and overall control PCOS symptoms.

But, when combined with D-Chiro, you get a super-supplement that has even more benefits than Myo-inositol alone.

How Does it Work?

We all know that there’s no magic elixir available for PCOS, but this may be the closest we’ll ever come to finding one. Here’s a breakdown of the two ingredients in this powerful combination:

Myo-inositol:

This is just one of nine different Inositols available, and it is the most common one that occurs naturally in the body. Its main function is to help insulin enter cells effectively, playing a role in the way insulin works on the cell, making insulin’s role more effective.

Women who suffer from PCOS have irregularities in the way our bodies respond to insulin and glucose so working on the insulin pathway can help to regulate and diminish PCOS symptoms.

The two main ingredients that this product has is a major factor in why it is working for women who are looking to get pregnant!

D-chiro Inositol (DCI):

D chiro inositol is formed from Myo-inositol, but it is not present in the same high concentration. In fact, women with polycystic ovaries are believed to be deficient in DCI. Women with this condition struggle to convert Myo to D-chiro, causing a deficiency. To add insult to injury, we also lose more d chiro inositol (DCI) in our urine than a normally functioning female body.

To understand the effects that this deficiency can have on our bodies, it’s important to understand what d chiro inositol (DCI) does. Its main function is to improve the efficacy of insulin, but it also improves:

  • Blood pressure and cholesterol
  • Testosterone levels
  • Ovulatory function

Are you starting to see why this inositol supplement is being dubbed a magic elixir for sufferers?

What Are the Benefits?

Now that you know what the two ingredients do, what can you expect when taking this supplement?

  • Regulates menstrual cycles
  • Promotes Ovulation
  • Improves egg quality
  • Decreases the risk of gestational diabetes during pregnancy
  • Lowers insulin and glucose
  • Lowers cholesterol
  • Lowers inflammation
  • Improves anxiety
  • Improves acne

My PCOS and Infertility Story

I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2015 after spending 6-9 months trying to conceive my first baby. To be honest, I had a gut feeling that getting pregnant would be difficult for me. I never had a normal menstrual cycle. In fact, my “first period” was a result of me going on birth control at the age of 16 or 17.

I spent about 10 years taking my birth control pill religiously, always having a “period” like clockwork each month. So when I decided to come off birth control to start thinking about starting a family, I really was not surprised when nothing happened - no period.

I went to my OBGYN and went through all the usual tests and hoops to determine what was going on. It was determined that not only was I not getting a period each month, but that I wasn’t ovulating at all. No egg, no baby.

I went through months of treatment with my OBGYN to try to get me to ovulate before they sent me to a reproductive specialist where I was officially diagnosed with PCOS.

To condense a very long story, I’ll keep it brief and tell you that I spent the next months following my diagnosis studying and learning everything I could about this condition and how I could overcome it to get pregnant. I was put on Metformin and also began taking Ovasitol (with the consent and recommendation of my doctor).

Within a few months, I was pregnant and eventually gave birth to a healthy baby. After giving birth, I continued to take Ovasitol and saw a huge improvement in my PCOS symptoms. I was getting a regular period for the first time in my life, which was a big deal to me.

Since then, I have given birth to another baby and am happy to say that I no longer suffer from the side effects of PCOS. Full disclosure: I no longer take Ovasitol as my main goal of taking it was to conceive and I am all done having babies.

That said, I credit Ovasitol with helping me to conceive because it allowed my body to get a natural menstrual cycle for the first time in my life. Today, I recommend this supplement to any women I come across who suffers from PCOS in the hopes that they, too, can experience relief of their symptoms and healthy pregnancy (if that’s their goal).

Always consult with your Dr. before starting any kind of new supplement or medication.
