MYX Fitness claims to be redefining home fitness, but is that true? Or is MYX just another home spin bike in a sea of competitors hungry for a piece of the D2C home gym equipment market?

Since the Beachbody and MYX Fitness merger (BODi), there's been a lot of anticipation around what's going on and what exciting new features we can expect from both brands. Well, I’ve had my MYX Fitness bike since the end of last year and have not only used it extensively, but I’ve compared it to other fitness bikes and spent countless hours pouring over research and reviews so that I can deliver to you the answer to your most pressing question: Is the MYX bike worth it? Is the MYX fitness bike experience indoor cycling at its finest? Is this exercise bike the perfect alternative to the Peloton Bike?

The brand recommends that you have a space that’s 6’ x 4’ to allow for movement during your workouts and exercises performed on the floor. Accommodating riders of all sizes, the MYX bike is approved for riders between 4’11” and 6’8” and has a weight capacity of up to 350 lbs, which is superior to many other bikes on the market.

In addition to the inclusiveness of the bike’s user accomodations, it’s reassuring to also know that it’s fully adjustable. The seat and handlebars are easily adjusted to create a comfortable ride. Here’s where the MYX Training system really shines when compared to competitors. Every MYX bike comes standard with a fully immersive, 21.5” HD touchscreen that swivels 360 degrees for optimal screen viewing at any angle.

Inside the interface, you’ll find a complete library of on-demand workouts taught by expert trainers who coach in a one-on-one format as opposed to a one-to-many (studio-style fitness class) experience. The interface is very easy to navigate and use, allowing you to view your stats, filter classes, and choose programming with the click of a button.

To further add to the convenience and customization of MYX’s system, they allow users to pause workouts as well as adjust the volume of both the coach and the music separately. There’s nothing worse than loud music that drowns out the voice of your coach to the point where you’re straining to hear your instruction cues. With MYX, this is never a problem because you’re in control of both sound elements.

Lastly, MYX has some amazing playlists to enjoy during your rides and the best part is that you’ll never have the same playlist twice in one workout (unless you’re taking a coach-approved music experience ride, a new ride category on the interface that gives more of a studio experience). For the majority of the available rides, you can take the same class more than once but have a different experience each time because the playlist will vary. As far as I know, this is a feature that’s unique to MYX!

This heart rate monitor will be used in all of your MYX workouts, with their expert trainers guiding you through each class across your three calibrated heart rate zones. This approach to fitness ensures that you’re not just working out to reach a calorie burn goal but that you’re prioritizing recovery and achieving sustainable results.

The first time you hop on your bike, you’ll be guided through the MYX Zone Calibration Ride which features their patented system that assesses your unique cardiovascular fitness level. Between the information gathered during your calibration session and the information you give during your member profile questionnaire, MYX will assign you your three unique heart rate zones. Armed with this information, your trainers can support and guide you through each subsequent workout, tracking your progress over time. To keep your zones up to date, you’ll need to retake the calibration ride about every 6 weeks.

Cross-Training

As you can see, there are so many off-bike / cross training programs to choose from, and, they keep adding more, which is nice.

MYX understands that you can’t just spin your way to the body you want and the overall wellness you need; other exercise modalities needs to play a role in your journey to optimize your results. Don’t get me wrong, they look great, the set is professional, and the production is on-point, so no need to worry about any kind of lapse in quality.

Plus, every one of MYX’s coaches is an expert in the fields of fitness, health, wellness, and dance, so they have a deep understanding of how to help you reach your fitness-related goals safely and efficiently, while also helping you to cultivate positive mental health, too. During each workout session, your trainer will be walking you through it the whole way. They’ll keep you engaged, motivated, confident, and encouraged the entire time. Even though I had some experience with spin classes, I started here with level one classes on my MYX bike and found that the foundational instruction on form and bike mechanics was incredibly helpful as I learned how the MYX system works while still getting in a solid workout.

Level Two

For those who are already familiar with and comfortable on the bike, these classes serve as a way to add a new challenge to your routine. With heavier resistance, faster cadence, and quicker transitions between in and out of the saddle, these rides will help you push yourself when you’re ready. Level two classes will send you well on your way to your workout goals!

Level Three

This is where confident riders come to flex their skills and up the ante in their fitness journey. You can expect to turn your resistance knob up a notch to find heavier hills, faster flats, and short, effective recoveries. MYX Mat Workouts

My Experience With the MYX Fitness Bike

I've been riding the myx bike for almost 6 months now and it just keeps getting better.

The MYX Fitness bike was one of the first indoor bikes I've tried at home. Of course, I have tried a stationary bike, recumbent bikes, and an upright bike over the years everywhere from home to my local Planet Fitness, but nothing compares to the experience of a spin bike. I also want to note that I have used the Peloton Bike frequently over the past couple of years, so I have that experience as a point of comparison when it comes to my MYX Fitness review.

The first thing that I noticed when my bike was delivered to my home was that it's a very high-quality bike, which I'll be honest was a little surprising as I assumed that the quality might lack based on the affordable price. But I am happy to report that that is not the case at all! In terms of the bike itself, it's sleek, compact, and requires only minimal floor space for use, which is nice considering I put it in my office and space is limited.

I purchased the MYX Plus package because I felt that the value of the extra equipment included was well worth the small upgrade in price. I was particularly excited about the stabilizing mat as I have hard tile flooring in my office and knew I would need something to place my bike on. My MYX bike includes everything I need to get a great workout from home, anytime.

Inside the MYX Fitness app, there are so many training options to choose from, which I love. Plus, I was given complimentary access to the app while I waited for my bike to arrive so that I could get acquainted with the workouts. Classes range from bike classes and HIIT training to scenic rides and meditations. The inclusion of different style training classes is a major plus for me as a personal trainer who preaches prioritizing resistance training, cardio, and mobility combined for a well-rounded workout.

Other than that, I love that I can hop on my bike anytime I need a break, throwing on my regular running shoes and not having to worry about buying and wearing special shoes. I don't need to bring my own device, I can enjoy an immersive experience right on the screen, even when I'm doing mat classes on the floor thanks to the swivel screen. Overall, this bike includes everything I need and nothing I don't. It doesn't get much better than that.

How Much Does MYX Bike Cost?
