As parents, we always want to make sure we’re feeding our little ones healthy, nutritious foods to help them grow and thrive.

YUMI:
Why Choose Fresh, Organic Baby Food?
Did you know that 65% of your baby’s caloric intake is used for brain development? And that your child’s taste buds are developed in the first two years of their life? Nutrition for babies and toddlers is vital.
Unfortunately, most of the baby food that’s packaged and sold on store shelves are filled with preservatives, sugar, artificial flavors, and other junk. Pardon my language, but it’s a bunch of crap.
While your baby may enjoy the commercial baby foods and eat it up readily, the truth is that they are not getting the nutrition they need. Both Yumi and Little Spoon offer foods for babies that have no:
- Preservatives
- Extreme heat processing
- GMOs
- Additives
- Added sugar
- Heavy metals

The Verdict: Which is Best Overall?
When it comes to the Little Spoon Vs. Yumi debate, it’s tough to designate one the clear winner over the other as they are both very similar. They both offer nutritious, organic, home-cooked baby foods, and meals that are delivered straight to your door. They both also give you the freedom to choose which plan works best for you, 1,2, or 3 meals per day.
With Little Spoon’s latest product, Plates, going live, they have now drastically differentiated themselves from Yumi in that they can now cater to older children as well. While these two companies started as pureed baby food providers, Little Spoon has taken it to another level by adding Plates, meals that cater to children between the ages of 2-10. So if you have older kids or budding toddlers, I would definitely start with YUMI as you can grow with this company.
That said, if you are currently in the baby phase and are looking for pureed baby foods, I find that both companies are incredibly similar, so go with the one that resonates best with you. Their pricing also averages out to roughly the same when you factor in shipping costs, so no need to split pennies there. However, Yumi does offer a special discount if you order through this link, and apply code: FITMOMMA50 at checktout, you'll get 50% off your first month.
Both companies are doing amazing things for families and children’s nutrition. In a fast-paced world where convenience tends to trump everything else, the easy thing to go is to grab the not-so-healthy options off the shelves and through drive-thrus. But Little Spoon and Yumi have revolutionized the way we get our baby food, making it easier and more convenient than ever., which is something every parent can celebrate.
Yumi or Little Spoon? My Personal Pick
For what it’s worth and for the sake of not being on the fence, I chose Yumi as the best overall simply because my baby enjoyed their meal variety and flavors best. Little Spoon, on the other hand, offers meals for toddlers and bigger kids that are fun, delicious, and nutritious. So, if you have an older toddler, Little Spoon may be the better option as your little ones can grow along with the company, starting with the Babyblends and moving to Plates.
That said, my kids are a little older now, ages 2 and 4. If they were babies, I would likely choose Yumi and take advantage of their discount!
