With the holiday season approaching, I wanted to share one of my favorite healthy dessert recipes with you. This healthy protein cheesecake is a no-bake treat that tastes almost as good as the real thing.
I love this recipe because it’s super simple to make and it works for everyone from kids to adults. Plus, it saves you at least half the calories you’d be consuming from eating a traditional no-bake cheesecake. While there’s a time and a place for everything in your healthy lifestyle, if you’re being conscious of your caloric intake this holiday season, this healthy no-bake cheesecake will 100% hit the spot.
What Ingredients Do You Need For Healthy Protein Cheesecake?
Anyone who has ever made a cheesecake before knows that making the real thing, like with a water bath in the oven, can be a real pain. I can only assume that’s why someone created the no-bake version. And kudos to them because our lives are forever changed because of it.
To make cookies and cream healthy, no-bake protein cheesecake, you need the following ingredients:
- 1 8-ounce package of reduced-fat cream cheese
- 2 5.3 ounce containers of Chobani Zero Cookies & Cream flavor (if you can’t find this flavor or brand, feel free to substitute as you see fitting)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 scoops Cookies & Cream Protein Powder from Clean Simple Eats (My favorite, but feel free to sub!) Feel free to use my code “TAMI” to get 10% off your CSE order!
- 1 8-ounce container of Lite Cool Whip
- 15 Oreo Thins (crushed)
- 1 9-inch premade Oreo pie crust
How to Make
Once you have your ingredients ready to go, all that’s left is to start putting them together! Here’s how:
Place your Oreo Thins in a ziplock bag and crush them to your desired consistency.
Using a large mixing bowl and a hand or stand mixer, beat your softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
Beat in your greek yogurt, vanilla extract, salt, and protein powder.
Fold in your Cool Whip and the crushed Oreo Thins until well incorporated.
Spread your mixture into your prepared Oreo pie crust.
Cover and place in your refrigerator for 2 or more hours (the longer the better in this case!)
Cut into 8 slices and enjoy!
What Are the Macros and Calories?
Each serving of this healthy protein cheesecake contains the following macros and calories (remember, this is an estimate based on the specific ingredients that I used):
- Calories: 311
- Protein: 11 grams
- Carbs: 34 grams
- Fats: 14 grams
What Makes This Recipe Healthy?
This recipe is healthy because it contains less fat, sugar, and carbs and is less calorically dense than a traditional slice of cheesecake. The inclusion of protein powder in place of sugar allows the recipe to not only still taste great but it gives it a nice boost of protein, which is the building block of our body's tissue and muscle.
Is It Macro Friendly?
Yes, this cookies and cream no-bake protein cheesecake is very macro-friendly thanks to the relatively high protein content and lower fat and carbs (when compared to regular cheesecake).
Can This Recipe Be Stored in the Freezer?
I wouldn’t recommend freezing this cheesecake. You can, however, keep it in the fridge for 3-5 days and enjoy it.
