Want to start weight training but aren’t sure what the difference is between a dumbbell and a barbell? Feeling intimidated by the weights section at the gym because you don’t want to step in there when you have no idea what you’re doing?

What if there was an app you could use to design a custom weight training workout plan that’s designed for your unique goals and capabilities?

There is! And I am so excited to be sharing about Fitbod with you on the blog today.

I discovered Fitbod a few of months ago and decided to give it a try for myself. Here’s my complete Fitbod analysis and review, along with a 25% off coupon code (for the life of the app). More on this later...

Customer Reviews: What Are FitBod Users Saying About This Weight Training App?

According to the Apple App Store, there are over 100k (crazy, right?) ratings of Fitbod, with an average star-rating of 4.8/5. 99% of the reviews being positive, with only a sliver of negative complaints.

After taking a look at the negative reviews, I found that the users who rated the app at less than 5-stars did so because they had complaints about the specific exercises and where they are placed in the workout. These complaints came mostly from fellow personal trainers and every one was responded to promptly by the app development team. My take? This is a non-issue. Period.

To sum it up, the overwhelming majority of Fitbod App users are beyond satisfied with this workout app and find that the value provided is simply unmatched in the industry. Most users agree that this is the perfect tool for both home and gym workouts.

Introducing FitBod: Is it the best weightlifting app?

Fitbod is an app that’s designed to be your go-to tool for crafting better, more effective workouts that are based on your fitness level and preferences. They use an AI-powered training algorithm that understands your ability, your past workout style, as well as your available gym equipment to create a plan that’s all your own.

You’re given the option to choose between multiple forms of fitness from bodyweight training, weight lifting, HIIT, or a combination of all three. The app will develop a unique workout for you that includes specific, targeted exercises, repetitions that are based on your abilities and goals, and that are achievable given your access, or lack of access to gym equipment.

Who’s Fitbod a Good Fit For?

Honestly, I think the FitBod app is perfect for anyone who’s trying to improve their fitness and wants to have some structure and guidance. Additionally, it's great for those who are beginners in weight lifting. Personally, I’ve always admired those people who can walk into a gym and make up a routine as they go. I prefer structure, routine, and someone telling me what to do to get results.

Workout Goals to Choose From With Fitbod

During the setting up process, one of the questions you’ll be asked is what your main reason is for joining Fitbod. Here are the choices so that you can get an idea of what kinds of workouts you’ll be matched with and what kinds of results you can anticipate:

  • Increase muscle mass & size
  • Get stronger & lift more weight
  • Tone muscle & lose weight
  • Try new exercise & mix up your routine
  • Do HIIT style interval training
  • Do workouts with no gym equipment

How good is Fitbod?

Fitbod’s design and functionality are great. The app is intuitively designed with a layout that’s easy to use and simple to understand and follow. Where this app really excels is in their workout varieties, exercises, and customizations. The app and your workouts are custom-tailored to meet your needs, goals, capabilities, and equipment availability, which is something that most workout apps can’t say.

Here's a before and after shot to see some results using Fitbod:

It’s also very evident that Fitbod was designed by a professional team who understands the fundamentals of strength training and what it takes to build and progress through a program while keeping it fun and productive, which I find to be very reassuring. This app reminds me very much of another one of my favorite strength training apps, Caliber Fitness.

How much does Fitbod cost?

A yearly Fitbod subscription is $59.99 and will automatically renew every year unless you cancel before your renewal date. If you use this link, you'll get 25% off for life, knocking the price down to $44.99 per year. You also have the option to pay for a monthly subscription for just $9.99 per month.

Conclusion: Is Fitbod's App The Best for Weight Lifting?

It’s suffice to say that I am thoroughly impressed with this muscle training app. I find it to be very easy to use and I love that they have put so much time and thought into creating an algorithm that’s designed to create workouts custom-tailored to the individual. Most apps simply assign a blanket, one-size-fits-all approach to fitness which simply doesn’t work for many.

Whether you’re just getting into strength training and you need some guidance and a reliable, effective plan to follow or you’ve been at it for a while and are just looking for some accountability, tracking, and progression, this is definitely one of the best weight training app options I have found.

The price is ridiculously affordable, too! If you purchase the yearly subscription at $59.99, that comes out to $4.99 per month. It’s a no-brainer in my opinion.

Go ahead and download the app, create your profile, and try out your first three workouts for free. After those first few, you’re going to get a good idea of whether or not this app is for you.
