Elevation Protein Powder Review: What’s The Scoop?

this picture is the featured image of our elevation protein powder review

Elevation protein powder, also known as Aldi protein powder, is a whey protein powder distributed by Aldi through their Milleville brand.

Let’s face it, protein powders can be pricey, and if you’re a daily consumer like I am, it can be a fairly big monthly expense. So, you may be looking around for cheap protein options, and if you are, you may have seen Elevation protein powders and wondered if they’re any good.

I tried this brand of protein about a year ago. I have my honest opinion on this product, which you're about to find out. But you can also check out what others are saying about the product to help you make the decision if this product is right for you.

If you've been a reader at my blog, you'd know that I am an absolute fanatic about protein powders. In my circles, people had been mentioning Aldi's brand as being the best available protein products in 2020.

But, is this true? Or, is it just a bunch of marketing hype?

I set out to give a full elevation protein unbiased review, so you don't have to go through the trouble of testing it yourself.

With that being said, there are a lot of people who really enjoy Aldi brand products and find their prices and value to be a great fit for their lifestyle and budget, so I decided to write up a review with my personal opinions, hoping it helps others in their quest for the right powder to power them through their active lifestyle.

One thing’s for sure; not all protein powders are made equal, but it’s still possible to get a quality protein at an affordable price. After trying this powder for myself, I dug in deeper and took a close look at Aldi’s protein powder, creating a complete review so that you can decide for yourself if it’s a good match for your needs. I'll also link up a couple of alternatives if you decide you to go in a different direction.

What is Elevation Protein Powder?

Elevation by Millville is Aldi’s store brand of protein powders and bars. The protein powder comes in two different flavors; chocolate and vanilla. It’s a whey protein powder blend supplement that contains amino acids and creatine. There’s 30g of protein per serving.

This protein powder has both natural and artificial flavors, so if you’re looking to go clean and organic with your protein, this may not be the best option for you. There are 170 calories per serving, making it a great choice for people looking to use their protein powder as a meal replacement.

It’s convenient because this powder contains whey protein, creatine, and amino acids all in one formula, which eliminates the need to buy multiple supplements. However, depending on your needs and goals, you still may need to supplement more.

You can buy Elevation protein powder from your local Aldi store, or you can order it online through Amazon and enjoy Prime’s 2-day shipping. The reservation I have with ordering this powder from Amazon is that it's sold through a third-party and not from Aldi directly. I tend to shy away from third-party sellers on Amazon because you never know what you're getting, unfortunately.

If you don't have an Aldi near you and you don't want to overspend by purchasing it through Amazon, check out one of our favorite powders and brands, Orgain. We did a full review on them here. This is the brand of protein that I use daily. Don't forget to use my exclusive coupon code for 30% off your first order by clicking the link below.

Orgain also just launched their new Orgain Sport line which I'm super excited to try! This new, plant-based formula has 30G of protein, 5G of BCAAs, and just 3G net carbs. They also have a plant powered pre-workout energy drink and sport recovery drink available. Click here to check it out!

How Much Does Aldi Protein Powder Cost?

If you purchase Elevation at Aldi, the price will vary based on your location and particular store. The price on Amazon for a two-pound container is around $30-40.

Final Thoughts on Aldi Elevation Protein Powder

After doing a ton of researching (with very limited information), here are my final thoughts on Aldi Elevation protein powder:

Pros

  • It’s cost-effective for those who don’t a big budget for protein
  • It contains 30g of protein per serving

Cons

  • Not the greatest for women looking to slim and tone
  • It contains artificial sweeteners
  • Some buyers complained of a stomachache (could be due to the sweetener)
  • If you don’t have an Aldi near you, it’s more expensive to purchase online through Amazon and comes from a third-party seller
  • Does NOT Mix Well!
  • Taste is average at best

Conclusion:

Overall, I think this is a good protein powder for those looking to supplement their diet with additional protein who aren’t sensitive or averse to artificial flavoring.

That said, I do have one bone to pick with it.

The taste. Aldi's protein powder is literally unbearable to the taste. I have a pretty strong stomach, but even I had a hard time keeping it down. In addition, it doesn't mix well with water or milk—which are the two most important attributes according to most protein powder consumers.

C+
Rating

Overall I give this product a C+.

As mentioned it does what it says it will do, but the taste is terrible. And with the price it is offered at, this shouldn't be an issue at all.

After this test was completed, I happily went back to using my go-to protein - ORGAIN, which actually tastes good, and is cheaper online with my coupon code.

I also feel like I get better muscle recovery using ORGAIN.
