As a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and fitness addict, I love staying on top of industry trends. And one of the biggest trends over the last few years is connected at-home rowing machines.
I’ve tried them all - Aviron, Hydrow, Ergatta, CityRow Go…
But nothing excites me more than when I get to experience a new brand, or better yet, a new launch. That's exactly what went down recently when I got the opportunity to try out Aviron’s brand-new rowing machine, the Aviron Strong Series Rower.
I have been an avid fan of Aviron ever since I first tried their Tough Series Rowing machine about a year and a half ago. The Design (Hardware)
While we all know that programming tends to be our favorite part of a connected rowing machine, the hardware and design are equally important. And when it comes to Aviron, they’ve really upped their game with the Strong Series Rower. The following features and highlights make Aviron’s design hard to beat:
- Beautifully simply, modern, and sleek design (it’s a good-looking rower!)
- Premium build thanks to the steel and aluminum construction that ensures comfort and durability for the long-term (and it’s backed by a 10-year warranty on the rower body)
- Compact size that fits smaller spaces (total length is 84” from front to back)
- Rotating screen for a holistic, full-body workout experience that allows you to go on and off the rower
- Patent-pending foot/hip width adjustment for maximum comfort across all body types and sizes
- Dual resistance system that includes both air and magnetic resistance. The air resistance helps users feel like they’re out on the water rowing while the magnetic resistance delivers exceptionally strong and smooth torque that will allow you to get an efficient, customized workout every single time.
- 100 lbs of resistance allow users to get the benefits of both strength and cardio training all in one machine.
- An included fan that blows directly on the user while rowing allows you to keep cool and comfortable even through the toughest, sweatiest of workouts.
- Upright storage that does not require a wall mount (as most competitors do) allows you to store your Strong Series Rower upright when not in use. Plus, there are two locking wheels for safety.
- Incredibly inclusive for users of all sizes. Aviron’s Strong Series caters to individuals who have mobility restrictions and can accommodate users up to 507 lbs and 6’8” in height, which is industry-leading.
- Included phone holder positioned on an angle below the handle facing upwards helps to ensure that you don’t miss anything while you row.
- Patent-pending foot/hop width adjustment mechanism allows users to adjust the width between their feet (legs and hips) for a comfortable workout for users with all body types.
Plus, Aviron is now offering upgrades and accessories to make your rowing experience even more comfortable:
- Cloud Seat is available for those who wish to upgrade to a seat that includes a softer, more comfortable feel.
- Lumbar support kit add-on is available to offer back support and is designed for those who have back issues and those who are actively aging.
The Experience (Software)
The Aviron experience is unlike any other. From the gaming-inspired workouts to the ability to stream from your favorite apps, it’s hands-down the most versatile rowing experience. And it keeps getting better!
Here are the highlights of the software you’ll find on the new Aviron Strong Series Rower:
- Aviron uses habit-forming psychology and gaming design to get users motivated and keep them consistently using the machine, coming back for more day after day.
- A simple, easy-to-navigate user interface.
- Over 500 individual workout options across 8 very diverse categories to engage users both mentally and physically with multi-player games, team-based competition, guided programs, scenic rows, and much more.
