Your body is essentially one system, with all different parts contributing to your ability to function and thrive. Your gut is one part of this system, and it’s connected to your brain. This connection is responsible for digesting the food that you eat, absorbing nutrients and expelling waste from the body.
Unfortunately, there are times when your gut isn’t working as efficiently as you would like it to. You may be experiencing discomfort, bloating, nutritional deficiencies or constipation. Did you know that your immune response is directly related to your gut? Taking care of our gut and GI system as a whole is incredibly important when we want to feel our best each day.
Luckily, there are different diets, lifestyle choices and supplements that can make a big difference in gut function. I want to talk to you about two very different ones in this article. ARMRA is a colostrum supplement that can strengthen your skin, lung, and gut barriers, rebuild your microbiome and also activate cellular health. Then there’s Seed, which is a pre and probiotic that is designed to support systemic health.
And finally, before we begin, supplements are just supplements. Sometimes they will work alone, but to get the best results, you should eat a healthy diet and get consistent exercise daily. We have women's fitness workouts to help you get in shape, and you can sign up for our Free macro-friendly meal plans, which will help you get started with eating healthier!
Colostrum vs Probiotics to Improve Your Gut Microbiome
While both of these types of supplements can improve your gut microbiome, they work very differently. Probiotics add beneficial bacteria back into your gut. Your body is designed to have as many as 100 trillion microbes in the gut microbiome at any time. Unfortunately, we often lose some of these microbes because of lifestyle, diet, illness and the use of medications like antibiotics. Luckily, they can be replaced.
Colostrum is the first milk that is produced by a lactating female. In supplement use, colostrum typically comes from an animal source. Studies show that bovine colostrum can be beneficial by stimulating the growth of intestinal cells and strengthening the gut wall to prevent a breakdown of intestinal permeability.
Head-to-Head of ARMRA Vs. Seed
Overview of ARMRA
The ARMRA Immune Revival supplement is a powdered supplement that can be used to revive your entire body at a cellular level. This is a physician-developed formula using grass fed colostrum concentrate in the most bioavailable form possible. It protects your body from everyday exposure to pollution, allergens, illness and much more. ARMRA uses a proprietary technology, distilling over 200 functional nutrients for potent and beneficial products that allow you to take charge of your health. Immune Revival’s colostrum provides you with access to peptides, antibodies, antioxidants and bioactive molecules with each dose.
The formulation of ARMRA Immune Revival includes the proprietary ARMRA bovine colostrum blend (one gram per one scoop). This product does contain dairy, which you should be aware of if you have a milk allergy or intolerance.
There are a number of bioactive components in ARMRA's product, including Secretory immunoglobulin A, immunoglobulins, lactoferrin, milk Oligosaccharides, sialic acid, proline-rich polypeptides and growth factors. Growth factors are extremely prevalent in colostrum. They are proteins that promote cellular regeneration and the repair of tissue.
There is also a blood orange formula available, but the colostrum content is the same for that product. It simply provides you with a better tasting product, if you’re planning on just mixing your powder with water and drinking it down that way. There are a few additional ingredients to help achieve its flavor. ARMRA is free of gluten, glyphosate, sugar, soy, fat, casein and preservatives.
What I Like
ARMRA sources all of their ingredients in the U.S. and they manufacture everything in FDA-certified facilities. They have a very strict quality control process that tests products for heavy metals and contaminants. A microbiological analysis is always completed by a third-party, FDA-approved laboratory.
I love that this product is pure bovine colostrum and nothing else. When I look for new products and supplements, I like to find items that are very simple. I don’t want to put anything artificial in my body, and this supplement from ARMRA fits the bill. I’ve recommended it to a number of my nutrition clients.
What Could Be Improved
One dose of ARMRA contains one gram of colostrum. The recommended dose is 1.5 grams per day for adults, so I would love if ARMRA could increase their colostrum content just a little bit to better meet those requirements. The difference may be negligible, however if you’re going to be using this product on an ongoing basis.
I typically use the unflavored version, and I stay away from the blood orange variety because it contains stevia. Stevia is an acceptable sweetener alternative for a lot of people, but it tends to upset my GI tract a bit if I’m exposing myself to it day after day.
Pricing and Purchasing
The cost of ARMRA Immune Revival is $119.99 for a bulk jar of 90 servings. One scoop contains two grams of product.
If you’re looking for convenience, ARMRA also sells a 30 pack of travel sticks. The price is currently $49.99.

The formulas of these two products are incredibly different. They’re based off of different ingredients, though they can both be used to help balance your gut microbiome. ARMRA takes the approach of using natural and simple colostrum for health benefits. Seed has a much more vast approach to gut and systemic health. The product you select will be determined by what you want to accomplish, and what you want to add to your daily supplement regimen. They’re both products that have been scientifically researched to great extents.
Comparing Cost and Overall Value
ARMRA Colostrum costs quite a bit more than Seed’s pre- and probiotic supplement does, but you really have to consider where these ingredients are sourced. It’s not easy for a company to obtain large quantities of bovine colostrum at an affordable price point. Also, ARMRA uses very high quality colostrum in their product, so that affects the cost.
When you consider all of the beneficial ingredients that are included in Seed’s Synbiotic, it definitely seems to be the better value.
Comparing Claimed Benefits
ARMRA claims that their product can improve the strength of your skin, lungs and gut barriers, while rebuilding your gut microbiome and activating cellular health at a level of performance that will revive whole body immune health.
Seed believes their product can support systemic health thanks to strains of probiotics that support your digestive health, gut barrier integrity, gut immune function, cardiovascular health, dermatological health and micronutrient synthesis.
Both of these supplements offer whole body support despite being made with different ingredients.
Main Differences between Seed and ARMRA
As mentioned above, the formulations of these two products are very different. Their price points are vastly different as well, which may impact your decision to purchase one or the other.
ARMRA markets their product as being beneficial for the gut and positively impacting the body’s immune system. Secretory immunoglobulin A in colostrum plays a crucial role in immunity. You get immune support from a diverse microbiome, unlocked with Seed probiotics.
Which is Better for Gut Health: ARMRA or Seed?
My professional knowledge of probiotics leads me to believe that Seed would be the better option for someone who is looking to focus on improving their gut health. They have included 24 clinically studied strains of probiotic with their polyphenol-based prebiotic, benefiting all areas of your body (not just your gut).
ARMRA is an excellent product as well, which has the potential to heal your gut and make your GI system more efficient and comfortable. However, this is a probiotic-free supplement that utilizes colostrum for gut health. There are many promising studies that indicate colostrum is beneficial in this regard.

As a nutritionist, I have a keen understanding of the relationship between our whole-body health and what we are putting into our body. Food is an important component of taking good care of oneself, but there is frequently a need for additional support. Both ARMRA and Seed offer different, but extremely versatile supplements that allow you to take control of your health from the perspective of so many bodily systems.
I encourage you to take a moment to look into ARMRA colostrum as well as Seed probiotics. While they both take a different approach to helping you get your gut health in check, they are excellent options that can completely transform how your entire body functions. You don't have to suffer with things like bloating, constipation, decreased nutrient absorption and flatulence. There is natural relief out there that can change your life.
How You Can Take Your Health to the Next Level
Chances are if you're looking to get a probiotic, you want to live a healthier lifestyle. Probiotics can be very helpful, but they won't do everything, meaning, you'll also need to change your eating habits and adopt a consistent exercise program to reap the full benefits of a probiotic like Seed or a immunity supplement like ARMRA.
