What's better than fast food chicken nuggets? An easy-to-make 4-ingredient healthy chicken nuggets recipe!

And, since we got a lot of positive feedback on our high-protein Buffalo Chicken Wrap recipe (56g of protein!), we decided to share our healthy chicken nugget recipe once and for all!

Chicken is always a great source of protein, which can have many benefits for women. Plus, recipes like this make it real easy for macro tracking.

These nuggets are just like the classic fast food nugget without the added fats and unknown ingredients!

3 Reasons Why You Will Love This Recipe

You are going to love this recipe because there is no flour, egg, dipping station! It’s all in the recipe! These nuggets come out crispy and delicious. They are similar to the holy grail of Chick Fil A nuggets but you can make them at the comfort of your own home and best yet… on a SUNDAY! I always seem to crave Chick Fil A on Sundays so this is a great alternative you can make any day, any time!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  •  Seasoning of your choice- I like ranch seasoning and garlic powder

Kitchen Tools Required

  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring cup
  • Ice Cream Scoop

How to Make 4 Ingredient Nuggets

  1. Preheat oven OR airfryer to 400 degrees
  2. In a mixing bowl, mix egg, breadcrumbs, cheese and ground chicken until combined
  3. Use ice cream scoop (or tablespoon, 1/8th cup measure) to create 16 small patties
  4. Place nuggets on an oil sprayed, foil lined  pan or in air fryer
  5. Bake at 400 for 12 minutes flipping halfway in between
  6. Serve with fav dipping sauce!

Swaps or Alternatives

You can use ground turkey for this recipe and it will be just as delicious!

If you do not have parmesan cheese, you can use shredded cheddar. The macros may just be a bit different.

Quick Tip(s)

My grandma was such an amazing cook and one of the tip she gave me is to use quality ingredients. For this recipe and all recipes that use parmesan cheese, use quality cheese! Go to the fancy cheese section at your grocery store, spend a few extra dollars to get quality parmesan reggiano cheese. Thank me later 😉
